Since you have a premium tax credit, you have to factor that into how much you can deduct for your self-employed health insurance deduction. You can't get the deduction and the tax credit using the same insurance expenses. There is a complicated calculation that TurboTax uses to determine how much of your insurance premiums are deductible for self-employed health insurance purposes. Once that amount is determined, any excess is deductible as itemized medical expenses. You can learn more in this IRS article.

TurboTax doesn't keep a copy of Desktop tax returns. The file is saved on your computer, not online.
For access to tax information, request a "Tax Return Transcript" from the IRS.

A tilde TurboTax file (e.g., ~MyTaxReturn.tax2024) is a temporary backup or autosave file. It is created by TurboTax desktop. They are intended delete automatically when you close the program, but may remain if TurboTax shut down improperly. It is an emergency backup file if your computer crashes or the software closes unexpectedly. It should only be used to open the return if your main .tax file is corrupted or lost.

This worksheet is currently showing an amount carried over from 2024 as well as a carryover from 2025 on Line 24, section 179 Disallowed Deduction Carryover. Looking back at my as filed schedule E for 2024 and at my current draft 2025 filing, it appears the amounts showing as "disallowed carryovers" were actually shown expensed under Schedule E, Depreciation. Can anyone explain what's happening and how to correct the discrepencies? Thanks.

We’re currently working on an update for Form 5605. There will be an update on March 6. After this day you can go back through your return, and make any changes as needed, then file your return. If you are using TurboTax Online the program updates automatically. If you are using TurboTax Desktop make sure all updates have been run on your program. You can do this by clicking on "Online" in the black bar across the top of your TurboTax screen. And then select "Check for Updates".
You can sign up for updates here: Why am I getting address errors for my Home Energy credit when the address has already been added and is correct?
If you have any additional questions or information regarding this please return to TurboTax Community and we would be glad to help.

Just want to add that my experience with TAWO was quite positive. It was the app most similar to It's Deductible of the 4 I tried. I just needed something to give me a value for the household goods, clothing and shoes I donate each year. With the changes in tax law for charitable giving next year I may have to "bunch" even my clothing donations. Nothing's sure but death and (changing) taxes
