The panel was made by Eaton/ Cutler Hammer. I have had direct contact with Eaton and the comment is they are working on it. Note also that if you try for a QMID for other panel manufactures like GE, Siemens, Square D. They all dropped the ball. The real problem with TurboTax, outside of the enabling section was that I had to run through the IRS form and manually input things in a number of places, some of which were a kluge, in order to even get the heat pump (which had a QMID) to provide a credit.

Dawn, I wish it worked that way. If you X out of the "Assistant," it takes you out of Search on the desktop. I found the SEP-IRA worksheet on my own, by nosing around, but please tell somebody: The "Assistant" is terrible and a search function needs to be added back to the desktop.

@p4quilts So sorry----but you cannot move any of that information into a new 2025 return. You will need to start over.

To select whether you want to itemize or take the standard deduction, go to Deductions and Credits, and click Continue (or Finish this later) and go through the questions until you get to the screen that shows you your total Itemized deductions vs. the Standard deduction and that's where you can manually select what deduction method you want to use on your tax return.

I am going through this same problem with no solution! Not sure what to do now!

Well, I guess I can start a new account. But I've just spent hours putting this year's data into the old account. Do I need to do it all over again, or can export/import some of it over or something?

If you could clarify what code(s) are in box 7 that would allow us to help you better. Box 2(a) is left blank because the issuer isn't certain what amount if any is taxable. However, TurboTax can determine that by the codes in box 7 and your answer to questions in the program after you enter the 1099-R form. It would also be helpful if you could tell us what other boxes have numbers in them.

I filed my 2024 taxes, but later in the year I received a new 1099-R in the mail, with a value in box 1 and code R in box 7. Do I need to file a 1040-X ?

There was a rounding issue in TurboTax that was triggering an unnecessary Form 8959 which has been resolved. Please sign back into your return, walk through the review section, and re-file your return.
However, if Medicare tax withheld in Box 6 of your W2 is in excess of 1.45% of Wages reported in Box 5 of your W2, then Form 8959 (Part V) is required.

Good day, TurboTax Community. I am a U.S. citizen residing in the U.S. My spouse is a foreign national remaining abroad pending immigration proceedings and has never stepped foot on U.S. soil. We filed jointly in 2024 and will do so for 2025 (and beyond). My spouse received an ITIN in 2025 using a maiden name (updating my spouse's lawful IDs is a slow process abroad). My spouse received new foreign national IDs with the married name in 2025. (Note: Our immigration application has also been updated using the married name.) Legally, we must submit a new Form W-7 communicating my spouse's name change to the IRS, but like last year, this requires (1) receipt of an original foreign national ID, (2) being forced by the Acceptance Agent to complete our taxes manually for a fee and (3) manually mailing our 2025 taxes to the IRS ITIN Office. In short, we are penalized for doing the right thing. I have created our taxes with TurboTax using my spouse's married name and maiden name ITIN. All income is 100% through my sacrifices (I financially support the wellbeing of my spouse). Questions: 1. Is there any legal means to which I may file our 2025 taxes without (1) being held hostage by a for-profit Trusted Agent or (2) mailing my spouse's original foreign ID/passport to the IRS? 2. Is it reasonable to list my spouse's ITIN-assigned maiden name to submit our 2025 taxes electronically? If "Yes," whenever my spouse is authorized to immigrate to the U.S., we will immediately file the name change then, though my spouse will automatically receive a social security number using the married name shortly after physically arriving in the U.S. Thank you for your interest, expertise, and perspective.

I opened a CD in Dominican Republic in April of 2025 and it is set to mature in 2027. The interest I am receiving monthly is compounding. I have already submitted my taxes for 2025, and completely forgot about the interest since I did not receive any statement from the bank. Do I have to report the interest I made in 2025 even though none was deposited to me?

You will find this information HERE and also on the Form 1099-Q "instructions for recipient" included with the form itself.
It does feel strange not to report something that comes to you on an official form, but it's proper to leave the data off when there is no taxable distribution. TurboTax accepts the information for assistance in calculating this, but disregards it when it determines there is no taxable distribution.

@PatriciaV Hi Patricia, please see the attached after I followed your instructions. The state is Maryland. Also, before I sent the file, I took out the two overrides on lines 5 and 7 of the related Noncash Contributions Worksheet that flow directly to the Form 8283, so you should see the error in the description of what was donated (there's no number of shares indicated) as well as the error in the method to determine the FMV of the contribution on that form and the Form 8283 (erroneously says comparative sales rather than average sales price). Lastly, when I log out of turbotax, the method for determining FMV is deleted in the step by step even though I selected average sales price. However, the form for "Additional Info" under the form form "Charitable Org" has a drop down menu on Line 4 for FMV method. I selected Average Sales Price there too. And the top of that form does have the correct description including the number of shares. But these two pieces of information don't flow correctly to lines 5 and 7 of the related Contribution Worksheet, which then flows incorrectly to the Form 8283. So it looks like the programming error is somewhere between that Additional Info form and the related Noncash Contributions Worksheet and Form 8283. Please keep me updated on the timing of the fix to the IT errors here, I'd like to file my return this month after I receive one more 1099. Lastly, if it would help, I'd be happy to talk to you and/or to IT directly if you reply back with a direct line phone number.

I suggest you look on your return to see if the information from the K-1 is included on your Form 1040. K-1 schedules come from a partnership or S Corporation. The income on those forms would transfer to Schedule 1, line 5 of the Form 1040. If that amount is correct, then you should not have a problem with the K-1 schedules not appearing on your tax return and it should be good to file.
To view your form 1040 and schedule 1 to 3:
Choose Tax Tools from your left menu bar in TurboTax Online while working in your program
Choose Tools
Choose View Tax Summary
See the Preview my 1040 option in the left menu bar and click on it
Choose the Back option in the left menu bar when you are done

Got it. Medicare premiums paid by Social Security on my behalf (because the amount is automatically deducted from my Social Security Benefits) are paid to Medicare as a part of my full Social Security Benefit, which in my case, is 85% taxable on the full amount. The Medicare premium amount is not deducted separately from my Social Security benefit as a pre-tax deduction. On the brighter side, I can look at it still as essentially getting Medicare premiums non-taxable because my SS benefit is only 85% taxable. My Medicare premium deducted from my Social Security benefit amounts to roughly 10% of the whole SS benefit...so I'll take it as a win. Thanks!
