I am having the same problem. Installation fails every time I try to install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2022 Redistributable package. I have Windows 11(64bit).

But then again 'most people' pay MSRP for a car, believe their Congress reps, and are sure their are unicorns. They will get WIN11, find that their maalox bill will go up and eventually recognize their life is no better, nore their computer more secure than WIN 10. BUT, they have some really cool, zero value features and gee it will only be a few more years and they will be privedged to upgrade to WIN 12. Oh Boy!

Thanks for your reply. I know I won't have access to the lost data which was why I came here.    What will happen now if I install 2025 Turbo Tax....I assume I have to recreate all my rental properties in it with Purchase dates so it can figure out depreciations. Basically, I am asking if Turbotax will still work if I have no 2024 data

Thank you GabiU,   Without your link and the updates to the linked article, there is no way I would have known what I had to do to download my 2025 ItsDeductible data.
Thanks for your assistance!

If you used desktop software downloaded/installed from a CD to your own computer, then the tax files are stored locally on your own hard drive or any backup device you used like a flash drive.  They are not stored online.  If you cannot recover them due to a hard drive failure, etc. you can get a free transcript from the IRS or for a fee of $30 an actual copy of your tax return. https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506.pdf

I have been using ItsDeductible for at least 15 yrs.  They were going to stop the deduction program about a year ago as well but decided to keep it going.  I hope that the same can be said for this time as well, and TurboTax will change their mind about discontinuing it.  I continued to file via TurboTax for so many years because of this feature.  I may consider to use a different way to file my taxes in the future.
