I am getting into the same issue with Turbotax Business 2024. I last saved the tax file in September. Today I tried to reopen it so that I can get ready for filing the return. And I got that Error 190 message. The suggested solution is to download the state forms. I am in Texas and there is no state income tax in this state. What are my options? Thanks.

If this is a help, I have inserted the portion of the email that I recieved from Turbo tax immediately after the filing was rejected.  It states the Oct. 20 deadline for this case.           Important filing deadlines             If your return is rejected before the April 15, 2025 tax filing deadline has passed, you can still correct and re‑file your tax return before April 20, 2025 without being considered late by the IRS. If you filed an extension, and your return is rejected before the October 15, 2025 tax filing deadline has passed, you can still correct and re‑file your tax return before October 20, 2025 without being considered late by the IRS. Learn more   If you e‑filed any state returns, you’ll receive separate status emails about those returns. Delays in e‑filing your federal return may cause delays in your state tax return. And remember, keeping a copy of all status update emails like this one is always a good idea.              Check before you click! TurboTax will never ask you for your personal information in an email. When you click on a link, the address should always contain "intuit.com/".

There are places for two names on Schedule C: "name of proprietor" and "business name." Name of proprietor should be the name of whichever one of you owns the business. Business name should be the name of the business. If it is truly "our business," meaning that you both own it, you should not be reporting it on Schedule C, or at least not on a single Schedule C. How you report the business depends on whether you live in a community property state, and whether there are any other owners besides you and your husband. There are additional considerations if the business is a partnership, LLC, S corp, or C corp.

Yes, that message is different from the AGI not matching. It is now too late to e-file for 2024, with or without an extension. You will have to file by mail. I don't know why you think you should be able to e-file until Oct. 20. October 15 is the last day for an initial e-file, with or without an extension.

Do you have the tax return data file with a .tax2024 file name extension? You cannot open a PDF in TurboTax. Do you have the TurboTax software in Windows or on a Mac? Don't try to open the file by clicking on the file. Start the TurboTax program, then open the file from within TurboTax. I'm not sure what you mean by "TT doesn't complete the task of opening." Do you mean that TurboTax does not open the .tax2024 file, or that the TurboTax program doesn't open? What exactly happens when you try to open the file? If you get an error message, what is the exact complete message?

I changed the AGI to $0 and was rejected again.  As before, it says: "Transmission failed: You are past the deadline for new filings. Please contact customer support. Looks like we've had a technical hiccup."     Is this different from the statement that the 2023 AGI does not match their records?  I know the 2023 AGI is correct.   Continued thanks for your help!
It was rejected due to the AGI, so I will try marking that as zero as you suggest.  Thank you!

the price isn't really increasing depending when and how you buy it.  It's usually discounted in January and cheaper on authorized retailers like Amazon than buying it directly from Intuit.  I've been buying it for years ranging $70-120, for 2024 I paid $80.  That said, we'll see what 2025 brings.

For the Pension and Annuity Withdrawal worksheet on the Part D - General Rule Method - line 1 asks for the contributions made to the plan. What amount do I put there since it is a 401K that my husband has been adding to for the 25 years he worked there. The review for errors of my NJ state return pointed out that there wasn’t an amount in that line.

You received an email that we cannot see that tells you why your tax return was rejected.   Some rejected returns can be fixed and re-filed.  Some have “un-fixable” reasons for the rejection and have to be mailed instead.    What is the rejection code or rejection message?     If it was rejected for AGI—-your 2023 AGI might not be in the IRS system if you filed late.   Try using zero instead.   If filing with zero is rejected then file again but select the option that you did not file last year.  The IRS does not see that question and it will allow you to e-file with no AGI question.     https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/agi/help/where-do-i-correct-my-agi-in-turbotax-online/00/26311   If that does not work and you still cannot e-file, then print, sign, and mail your tax return.
