@ melinamoukory wrote: "Why the irs is rejecting my tax while I have entered the AGI from line 11 correctly but IRS does not recognized the information" I'll assume that this is not a joint return, since you didn't mention it and referred to it as "my tax." Be sure you are using the AGI from the original 2023 return and not an amended one. It's possible your 2023 AGI is not in the IRS database, especially if you filed your return late in the year last year. In that case many people file successfully using an AGI of 0 (zero). So you may wish to try that. If that fails, please provide the exact rejection error code.

@linkenschoenfeld52 wrote: "Where do I find this year’s personal number for my taxes? I’m tired of having to redo it over and over again. I don’t know where to look. Please help." First you need to explain what you mean by "personal number". So we have to start guessing a bit. Are you referring to an IP PIN (Identity Protection PIN) from the IRS, which is a 6-digit number? Or are you asking about something else? "tired of having to redo it over and over..." Are you getting an efile rejection notice? If so, please provide the rejection error code and/or rejection error message so we can understand your situation.

consider that desktop can do 5 returns for one fee while you have to pay 5 fees (higher than desktop to start with) to file those same 5 returns using online.

partnership k-1(?) - did you import the k-1, if so stray data may be brough in for those boxes. if you can check those lines in Turbotax to make sure there's nothing there for those lines. no code letter. if that doesn't work you'll need probably need to delete the k-1 and reenter manually. Turbotax will probably not let you e-file with those errors. 0 is usually not a valid number

Yes, you can amend a return even if it was filed by another accountant. You’ll just need to fill out the amendment form (1040X in the US) and send it in—TurboTax sometimes limits this if you didn’t file with them originally. In that case, you can do it directly through the IRS or get help from a tax advisor. I had a similar issue and got clear guidance from Eddar Belastingadvies —might be worth checking them out so you don’t miss anything.

try to avoid mixing business and personal expenses in one account. you will create a nightmare for yourself should you be audited. This doesn't mean that you can't take distributions from your s-corp but it's best if the money goes into a personal account to pay personal expenses.

since it's indicated as paid, that would seem to be the responsibility of the partnership management company. contact IN department of revenue to inquire about what's on the K-1-P Turbotax gets no info as to payments made. once you have a clear understanding of what the state is stating contact the management company to inquire about what it knows about this since it is not be showing up in state records. if they say it was paid ask for proof so you'll have something to send to IN to get you off the hook.

Turbotax can't help you. You have to check your records to see if the balance due was paid. Check the return for the balance due. if paid, get a copy of the payment (front and back and account statement) and send those documents with the notice to the address indicated with a letter stating the balance was paid - documents enclosed. sign and date the letter. if you have questions about which payment the IRS is referring to, you'll need to check your account transcript

I'm a fellow user--not a tax expert. Perhaps the second letter was generated if they hadn't processed everything you sent after the first letter; i.e., a case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing. Is there an IRS phone number on the 178C letter? If it was me, I'd probably phone the IRS, explain what was previously sent and the subsequent duplicate letter, and ask them outright what they want me to do in this instance. Maybe they can explain why the second letter was sent, or whether it was redundant. Or if there's not a contact number on the letters, the main IRS phone number is 800-829-1040 (7AM-7 PM local time) Monday-Friday OR since you purchased MAX, that company that offers the audit defense product should be able to help you with an IRS Letter. You can phone them and see. It shouldn't hurt to ask. Contact info is in the right column of the table displayed in this article: TurboTax Audit Support Center https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-audit/turbotax-audit-support/L6AcMoNFD_US_en_US TurboTax also has a free Audit Support Center that will help folks with an IRS Letter. Contact info is in the table in that same article mentioned above.

That is self employment income. You need to fill out schedule C for self employment business income and pay self employment tax in addition to regular income tax on it. The SE tax is to pay Social Security and Medicare tax that wasn't taken out like on a W2. You use your own name and ssn or business name and EIN if you have one. You should say you use the Cash Accounting Method and all income is at risk. After you put in your income and expenses if your net profit is $400 or more you will pay 15.3% for Self Employment tax in addition to your regular income tax. The Schedule SE will be automatically filled out for it. You can enter Self Employment Income into Online Deluxe but if you have any expenses you will have to upgrade to the Premium version. Or use any of the Desktop installed programs. All the Desktop programs have the same forms. You just get more help and guidance in the higher versions. Nope does not work. First you have to go into Security Settings, Privacy and Security, go down to Turbotax 2024 and slide the "desktop" slider to on. Also make sure Adobe Acrobat Reader (for me) is set as a preference for viewing pdfs. THEN I was able to save a pdf and print from there. But, as I noted to support today, this is NOT how the app is supposed to work! This is a long neglected bug or glitch in the software and the solution must be prioritized before TT 2025 is released or the same problem will be built in! BTW I still cannot print directly from Turbotax and this is August.
