Thank you. I just ignored the 1st 1099 and added those $$'s to the 2nd 1099... it looks ok now. Now I have another issue... I contributed 7k to my Trad IRA in 2024 and 1k to the same IRA in Jan 2025 also for 2024. I then entered 8k on the screen 'TELL US HOW MUCH YOU CONTRIBUTED'. When I say 1k of the amount was entered between Jan 1 and April 15, my tax increases by $250... which doesn't seen correct.

what is authority that upon the death of a taxpayer who had previously completed a tax free exchange, final form 3840 is required and no further filing or tax is due?

I need to amend 2022 to just simply change accounting type for inventory and I accidentally deleted stuff like home office costs etc. and I don’t remember how exactly it was plugged into the TurboTax UI and I don’t want to amend after things are shifted around the wrong way. I have the premium plan and spoke to a bunch of people today and seemingly no one will help me take my 2022 return and plug it back into TurboTax UI to bring it back to exactly how it was. There is no reset, undo, or restore to default option. This is an absolute nightmare. The last thing I need is a bunch of pointless stuff shifted around on my amended return because I forgot how I entered it through TurboTax’s very specific UI. Any suggestions?

Put Supplies under Supplies. Not under Cost of goods sold. Both Materials and Supplies go under Supplies.

You say you have to finish the return and then ask if you can amend the return. You can only amend if you have already finished and filed your return.
So, which do you need to do, finish and file the return or amend an already filed return? The answer is YES - you can, to either question, but we need to know the current status of the return so we can give you the correct instructions. Did you already e-file and if so, was the return accepted?

Hi RobertB4444, Yes, I accidentally spotted the “Create a substitute 1099-R” as I was checking through the 1099-R form on April 13th, so I used the method you have suggested - and filed on time! That approach had made no sense to me initially, because I didn’t have a 1099-R, but knew I had to submit a 4852, as I had done in previous years. Anyway, I will certainly remember this for next year. Thanks for getting back to me. Mike

If you used the desktop software, they are saved and stored on your computer; they are not stored in the cloud. If you used TurboTax Online, you can access them by signing into your account and scrolling down to the bottom of the page and expanding the section titled Your tax returns & documents.
Make sure you are signing in to the same account you used to file the returns you are looking for. How many TurboTax Accounts do I have?
