I am having the same issue. Not sure what to think. This has never happened before. Definitely do not want to double pay.

I received a schedule k-1 (1041 ) Final from My parents trust with the following information . Box 14 code-i 199A information. Rental real estate income  Non-SSTB   -7,755 SSTB                   0 Where  do I enter this information?   Do I select I from the dropdown Code I  and then enter the negative 7755 in the amount field next to the drop-down box?   Eventually the question:  Does the section 199A income box 14 include business income from a business held by the trust or estate.   One can answer either:  Yes some of the income is from a business Or The only section of 199A income is from dividends not business income.    If I choose some of all the income is from a business  It then ask me to enter the business name and an  EIN. (The notes say Generally this would be a separate EIN from the trust) The trust does not have a separate business employee identification number.  Do I enter the trust employee identification number instead?   Another question I have, The from list Allocation of excess deductions Taxes  under non misc.                                       533 Attorney, Acct Fees ..under expenses(67e)    257 Other deductions under expenses(67e)         3886 Where are these amounts entered?

@Esnedden  I'm sorry you had that difficulty.  One possibility is if you used any LIVE products, or any other add-ons.  Did you happen to end up in Live TurboTax by mistake?   There's another tricky step that messes up some military discount filers, which is this one:   On a screen after you enter the W-2 from DFAS, you will ultimately see a screen that ask something like "Let's check for uncommon situations" or "Does your W-2 have any of these uncommon situations?"  or words to that effect.  It shows maybe 10-11 things with check boxes.   Folks have to be sure to again indicate there that you are "active duty military."   I don't know why the program asks you twice to indicate "active duty", but it must be checked again there.   Did you end up paying for it?   If so, and if you can't get help from TurboTax Support, you can escalate to the liaison in the office of the president of Intuit to see if they will do anything.   They say they will respond to you in about 1 business day.  Here's the contact form: https://www.intuit.com/company/contact/office-of-the-president/

Trying to choose what form from a dropdown menu with several choices. I'm assuming it is either 1040 series or form 4868
Yes. State of residency does not affect your filing status. You can still file jointly on your federal return.   @Deabma
Thanks, I’m still waiting on my call back. Did you file successfully with this method? Or is the review error not letting you? I also don’t want the IRS to reject either. I’m beyond frustrated!

The Easy Extension takes you online to file the extension, so it doesn't count as a 'filing' from your desktop program.   @Geoffbaz1

Yes, if you both have separate TurboTax accounts.   The extension gives you until October 15, 2025 to file your taxes without getting a failure to file penalty.  You don't get extra time to pay your taxes so you must pay any taxes that you may have that are due by April 15, 2025 so you won't be assessed the failure to pay penalty.   Refer to the TurboTax Help article How do I file an IRS tax extension?.  If you need to file a state extension, review the article How do I file an extension for my personal state taxes?
