Use this link to file an extension for 2024: Free Federal Extension   Keep in mind, this is an extension of time to file, not an extension of time to pay.

I have filled out that the 1099k is for a personal item sale but there is no box to say tjat it was sold for a loss or no gain. Where can I find that. I did put the cost of the item on investment loss as another reply said to handle it that way but it won’t allow me to link them on a schedule d just a c and it keeps saying it is an error- it won’t let me double click the correct schedule to link them. And so it won’t let me file on line
The IRS only uses "occupation" for statistical purposes.  You can put whatever you want--like "domestic goddess."   But -----if you are a stay at home parent---do you have taxable income to enter?

You can put, Stay at Home Parent.  What you put doesn't effect your tax return.
@amilyn6665 if your ONLY income is that 1099-SSA statement, why are you filing? there is no requirement to do so.

I moved states in Dec 2023, so when I filed in April 2024 for the 2023 year, I filed state returns in both state A and B. I don't recall if they were both part year resident returns, but I believe state B was part year.   I stayed with my employer until July 2024, but they never updated my resident address to the new state (B), so it still shows state A on my W2, and I was paying state A taxes. Do I file my state tax returns again as a part year resident for both state A and B? Or should I only file full year resident in state B?
