I agree, the forms availability tool is basically useless.  I have been using TTax forever, and each year I encounter more and more problems using the software. As an "Advantage" member, I pay for the desktop software in early November and can access a preliminary version a couple of weeks later.  However, the Premier features that I need are still not available, more than 2 months later.
Why is the 1096 form for 2025 showing up as being from 2024?

@Srojas01  You filed for 2025?  How did you file?  It is too early to submit a 2025 return.  Turbo Tax hasn't started taking returns yet and the IRS won't start accepted returns until late January.   Does it say you submitted it?  Did you get any emails back?  The first email only confirms the transmission. The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepted or Rejected your efile.    And that's the main reason why you shouldn't file early.   You may get other tax forms you weren't expecting or forgot about.  They have until Jan 31 to send you any W2 or 1099 forms.  And some 1099 forms for investments won't come out until February.
TurboTax normally updates the program on Thursday's.  Check back on 01/08 or on Friday, 01/09 to see if the pension section is available.

For the 2025 tax year, there is a new, temporary senior tax deduction of up to $6,000 per eligible senior, in addition to an existing extra standard deduction for age. It is important to note this is a deduction (reduces taxable income), not a tax credit (reduces tax owed dollar-for-dollar).    The deduction is calculated on Schedule 1-A and the result flows to the Form 1040 Line 13b.   Schedule 1-A is estimated to be finalized for the TurboTax editions on 01/14/2026. Go to this website for the forms and schedules availability in TurboTax - https://form-status.app.intuit.com/tax-forms-availability/formsavailability?albRedirect=true&product=Turbotax_online&bu=cg

If you are asking about 2024. Maybe never. E-filing and online preparation are close. 2024 will need to be printed and mailed. If you're asking about 2025 returns, probably not until sometime after e-filing opens. As of 1/7/2026, the IRS has not announced a date. Also, not all forms, schedules, and worksheets have been finalized. if you are affected, Turbotax will block e-filing, but you should be able to check a box to be notified when those items are ready.
After an update today, Jan 7, the IRA, Pension section still not available.  What's going on ?  Is it a bug ?
I do not see the SS Senior Tax credit. Has that been updated in TurboTax 2025
Missing line 22 but when I put NY as the answer it will not let me proceed

No rush! Usually, IRS e-filing doesn't open until the last week of January. I have seen some websites warn that due to the programming changes and testing to reflect the last tax bill, e-filing may not open until mid-February. Turbotax may accept them before then, but generally, they will just sit on Turbotax computers until then.  I've heard that each year the IRS allows a few returns through to check the accuracy of its programming.
They know about it and are working on it.  It will be fixed in a future update.

Here are links to the Desktop and Online versions. For the Desktop progam you can use any version. All the Desktop programs have the same forms. You do get more help in the higher versions. The Desktop program can do unlimited returns and efile 5 federal for free. You get 1 free state program download but then each state efile is $20 or $25 or you can print and mail state for free. For Online versions you may have to upgrade to enter certain income. Online has separate fees for federal and state, so you can skip state.   You don't have to pay until you efile or want to print. So the price may change until you pay. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLr6ToPd2zM   This ad is too close to one side, I am afraid. I recognize that Intuit has lobbied politicians for years to prevent the government from releasing a free, simple tax filing system, but this has been done behind our backs. Intuit is now running predatory and misleading advertisements by cherry-picking what they believe to be highlights of this one big bill, without disclosing Intuit's profitability from this. Intuit has already faced scrutiny for not fulfilling its fiduciary requirements, and I believe this is apparent in this latest advertisement.
of course not should be 2025
