@ eleanorgarcia7 asked: "Can I file without an ip pin? I need to get to the screen where it does not require the ip pin" Why are you asking this question in regard to an IP PIN? It's not clear what the context of your issue is. It sounds like there should be more to the story. Have you ever had a 6-digit IP PIN assigned by the IRS? Did you already efile and got an IP PIN-related rejection? If so, what is the rejection error code? Or are you referring to the 5-digit PIN (Signature PIN or "self-select PIN) on the Signature page? If so, that is not an IP PIN, which is a 6-digit PIN. The 5-digit PIN is on a screen where you electronically "sign" the return, by choosing a 5-digit PIN (any digits of your choice, except can't be all zeros), entering "today's date", and your birth date.

That is pre-filled by TurboTax but is not filed because the amount is 2/3 of gross farm income, but if you did not have farm income, it will not be used. @dotsonbryan

Thank you so much for your reply. I just have a couple more questions. First off I just wanted to inform you that my W-2 does not have all $0’s except for box 12. In box 3 my total amount of Medicaid waiver payments are stated. Also boxes 3 thru 6 have numbers in them as I have social security and Medicare taxes withheld. I also pay FICA. So the problem I had when trying to do the steps you mentioned is that when I fill in box 12 with the || the box that says “MEDICAID WAIVER PAYMENTS” in the (UNCOMMON SITUATIONS) section IS NOT there. It only appears when I leave box 12 blank. Moreover, If I put $0.00 in box 1, when I get to the end and try to file my return it says that the IRS has a law that will not let me E-file with a $0.00 in box 1 and I have to file by mail, which I can no longer do now because today is the deadline. So should I leave box 12 blank and enter the amount in box 3 into box 1 so that it will let me E-file? Or will the putting $1 amount in box 1 be ok with the IRS? OR should I enter my W-2 as is with the $0 in box 1, leave box 12 blank and enter my Medicaid waiver income payments in the section that says “OTHER TYPES OF INCOME” then select “MISCELLANEOUS” and type in what type of income it is? (E.G. Medicaid waiver payments) Thank you again for your time. I truly appreciate it!😊

Be careful with putting in $0, as sometimes your AGI is already updated. Unfortunately, the IRS doesn't bother sending you notifications or confirmations on what it actually is so you have to check yourself (which is a pain for young people who are doing taxes for the first time, like myself). If they do, it's not intuitive how to set those notifications. TurboTax prompts you sometimes (as it did for me) to put $0 and I was rejected twice. Also, they're phone and email notifications don't come in at the same time, causing even more confusion on if you're returns were accepted or not. Just a reminder that I won't be using their services again, and I recommend anyone to do the same. Highly recommend FreeTaxUSA

I'm having this same issue to where my Missouri, and Arizona state returns are being rejected. This is the message I'm receiving- Description of error: Your state return has been rejected due to a data mismatch on your form W-2. What needs to be done: There is a potential mismatch in form W-2, Box 18 (local wages) value on your state and/or local return. Double check Box 18 (local wages) of each of your form W-2 in the Wages & Salaries topic under Income or Federal. Change Box 18 to ensure it matches what is on your W-2 and follow the steps to file your state and/or local returns.

The IRS provides tax history and W-2 transcript information for up to 10 years and copies of tax returns for up to seven years.
Use the “IRS Order a Transcript” application to view and print your tax transcript(s) immediately. You may also call the IRS self-service line at 1-800-908-9946 to order your transcript(s).
If you order by phone, follow the prompts and select 3, then 1 to quickly complete your order.
Once you get your IRS tax transcript order form, complete it, sign it and send it to the address listed in the instructions. This printout will not include W-2 or state and local information. Take into account that you cannot use the online method if you want the transcript sent to an address that is different from what the IRS has on file for you.

Your daughter is still a resident of Hawaii even though she is in college in AZ. She may have to file a non-resident AZ tax return in she has withholding from AZ.
Have your daughter review these resources:
Review your personal information that you've entered in TurboTax, which is needed to help ensure that you create the correct state tax returns.
Review your answers on the Personal profile screen.
Select your name under My Info
Select Revisit
Scroll through the screens to ensure that you have the correct answers for your state of residence
Scroll down to Other State Income and select Edit
Check your answer for Did you make money in any other states? Answer Yes, and indicate that you made money in another state.
After you complete your federal tax return and you move to the State Taxes sections, both your non-resident state and resident state returns will be listed. Prepare your non-resident tax return first. Depending upon the state you live in, you may get a credit on your resident tax return if you paid taxes on you non-resident return.
For additional information, refer to the TurboTax Help articles Do I have to file tax returns in more than one state?, Why would I have to file a nonresident state return? and How do I file a nonresident state return?

I HAD TO PAY BACK TAX OWED
The money you paid to the IRS for a previous year’s federal tax return is not deductible, so you do not enter it anywhere on your 2024 return. If you paid taxes due in 2024 to your state or local government, you can enter that by going to Federal> Deductions and Credits> Estimates and Other Taxes Paid> Other Income Taxes. You can enter the taxes you paid, but do not include any penalties or interest.
