For a nontaxable Health Reimbursement Account (HRA), there is typically nothing to enter in TurboTax Online. Because these funds are employer-provided and already tax-free, they do not qualify for a deduction and are not reported as income.

I do not like to be forced to buy a Windows 11 computer when my desktop is working well.  This is a class action lawsuit for all of us to companies who uses their big name like Microsoft forcing millions of people to buy new computers.  This is not good for all of us who does not need to spend this kind of money.  I am one of you who does not like this at all.  I would not have bought this TurboTax CD if I have known about this issue.

Please clarify whether your contributions to the HSA were reported on your W-2 or if they were entered separately.     Also, if you would be willing to share a diagnostic copy of your tax data file it could be helpful to take a closer look and see what might be happening with your return.  The diagnostic file will not contain personally identifiable information, only numbers related to your tax forms.     To provide us with the diagnostic file, follow the instructions below and post the token number in a follow-up thread.   If you are using a Windows CD/downloaded version of TurboTax, use these steps:   Select Online at the top of the screen. Select Send Tax File to Agent. Click OK. Post the token number here.   If you are using a Mac version of TurboTax, use these steps:   Go to the Menu at the top of the screen and select Help. Then, Send Tax File to Agent. Post the token number here.

You have the right to disagree with the notice from your state and send them a notice response letter asking for abatement.    Note: Generally, you should pay the additional tax first, and then request a refund with your written response.   If you have more specific questions about your state tax return items and amounts that are in question, you can ask those questions here on the Community; then, myself and others can help you work through those details.   You also have certain options for audit defense with TurboTax stemming from your purchase. From the TurboTax Audit Support Center help page: What types of audit support does TurboTax provide? TurboTax offers the following options for support when you receive an audit notice. Audit Support Guarantee Description: Free one-on-one audit guidance when you file a return with any TurboTax version except TurboTax Business for Windows Services: Consultation with a trained tax professional if you receive an audit notice Year-round answers to your audit questions Assistance with what to expect and how to prepare for an audit Contact info: Call 800-624-9066 for assistance Audit Defense Description: Optional paid add-on service that must be purchased when you file your taxes Available through MAX Defend and Restore (TurboTax Online), PLUS, or as a standalone service (TurboTax desktop software) Services: Full audit representation by a licensed tax professional, including representation in front of the IRS Contact info: Create or sign in to your Audit Defense account to get started. You can also contact TaxAudit at 877-829-9695. How do I know if I purchased Audit Defense? To determine if you purchased Audit Defense, sign in to your TurboTax account, select the tax year under Your tax returns & documents, and select View order details. @Eli_R .   assuming that you are both US persons ( citizen/GreenCard ) , Foreign Tax-home, have foreign earned / self-employment income and filing MFJ, it would be difficult to have one filer use FEIE and the other use FTC.  How do you then distribute all the deductions/ credits etc. between the two essentially independent streams -- I say this because there are  credits and deductions that are not available when  income is excluded.  There  is nothing in the way when one spouse is  US based with a W-2  /  1099-NEC and the other spouse is  Foreign with FEIE  or both spouse  use  FEIE  or FTC. Suggest you use  MFS and thereby be able to use FTC and/ or  FEIE per your  individual pref./ need.   Does  this make sense ? Is there more I can do for you ?

If you accidentally triggered a "Yes" answer, TurboTax may have generated Form 8938 (Statement of Specified Foreign Financial Assets). Even if you change your answer to "No," the form may remain in the background.  Follow these steps to Delete a Form:   Open your return and select Tax Tools from the left-hand menu. Select Tools from the dropdown. In the pop-up "Tool Center" window, click Delete a form. Find the specific form in the list and click Delete next to it. Confirm the deletion on the next screen and then select Continue with My Return.
Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen Click on Tools Click on Topic Search Type in 6781and enter.  On the result click on GO.

No, you enter your federal credit amount ($5,000) for Schedule CA (540), Part II, Line 16, Column B.  Because you took a federal credit, the IRS considers that a "deduction" you've already received for tax purposes. To prevent double-counting this benefit on your California return, you must "subtract" that federal benefit from your CA itemized deductions because TurboTax will transfer the amount from the federal return.   For the Form 540, Line 78 (Total Payments), you need to ADD your calculated $1,000 CA credit to the other payments (like your W-2 withholding) already on that line.  In most cases, this would be added as an Estimated Tax Payment, but in this specific case, that would cause a circular problem: TurboTax would add the estimated tax payment (like the credit above) then you would have to re- subtract- this is the best way to get around the TurboTax calculation (and once again, this is an extremely rare case where this would happen).   Please let me know if you need more clarification!  @GreenApple123

Error 54 typically indicates a transmission or authentication error while e-filing. Here are several troubleshooting steps that you can try, if you haven't already:   For a downloaded version, uninstall and reinstall the program. See this help article for Mac instructions If that doesn't help, or you downloaded TurboTax from a CD, try a manual update. See this help article for Mac instructions for manual update. Turning off your VPN and anti-virus software during the update can help as well. Try using a hardwired internet connection rather than wireless Try e-filing outside peak hours if possible I have not seen this issue reported for Mac elsewhere internally as yet, but will keep it on my radar.   @user17745956975
