Hello

I am interested in becoming a remote freelancer as a Canadian resident, I was wondering as someone applying for self employed income.

To prevent mistakes and forgetting anything could I possibly pay for the $300 dollar self employed service?

In order to prevent any mistakes or mishaps?

Would there be anything expected by the client?

Yes, if you live in Canada you can use our Full Service option and have a tax expert prepare your taxes for you. You just have to provide authorization and your documents, and our tax experts will prepare your income tax return and your GST/HST return (if applicable). After you've reviewed the returns, they'll be filed for you. You'll also get Audit Defence audit support for up to 3 years after filing.

We don't yet have the price for Full Service Self-Employed for 2025, but it will probably be similar to the current 2024 price of $315 (plus sales tax).

    Hello

Thank you for the response. The company I am interested in working as a free lancer is called Fiver.

You mentioned I would need to show documents for the $300 dollar self employed service.

What documents would that be exactly?

@user17576369146 You tax prep assistant will let you know exactly what is needed, but for your self-employment, you would need receipts for your expenses, and info on any income that's not on a T-slip. You also might need (if applicable): vehicle logbook, home office info, COGS info, GST/HST collected, etc...

You also may need to upload info for the personal tax part of your return, like medical receipts, child care receipts, etc...
