Tax on Life insurance

Is my Life insurance payout taxable when I die? about $400,000, straight term, no cash value. Who pays the taxes, the estate, or the beneficiaries? I am thinking change beneficiaries to my 2 children as beneficiaries?
(not my wife, she doesn’t need the money, I know she needs to agree & sign off on it)
