Refund rejected by Bank; returned to TURBO tax

My refund of $5,624 was rejected by my bank on February 22, 2024. Turbo tax received the money and took out their $202 fee, to send only $5,422 back to the IRS. That truly confused the IRS, because they can only search for a refund that matches the full amount on my tax return.

Or I can wait 6-months.

Please help.

When your refund is rejected by the bank, it is sent back to the IRS. The IRS will then send a paper check to the address on your return.

When will I get my federal tax refund?

Actually- no they won't. Since they can't find that your bank (Turbo Tax's bank) returned an amount that is different than the original refund amount- (because the fees were collected) they will not refund the money with a paper check, until 6+ months. That what the IRS told me, anyway. It's not their "policy" to search for refunds that are different amounts, than what was originally sent. This is a HUGE issue.
