I purchased a laptop this tax year to use for both personal and business that is related to my small business. Suppose I want to purchase additional laptops for future employees that would use it for business. Would these events qualify as a business expense for write-off?

Hello mideco25,
Thank you for your question. I am happy to assist you.
For the laptop that you use for both personal and business purposes – you can deduct only the business use portion. You cannot deduct any personal expenses, unfortunately.
Your business expenses must be ordinary, necessary, and reasonable. When you purchase additional laptops in the future that are used 100% for business purposes, then you can deduct the expenses that you incur on
behalf of your business.
Below are some good articles that you can use as references:

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you,
