I have 1099-C Cancellation of Debt for a credit card I am trying to file. But it keeps bringing me to the worksheet asking for the "Type of property" when I try to file.

This also never asked for any other information other than the amount of debt discharged and if there was any interest. Something's off!

Delete the Form 1099-C, the Canceled Debt Worksheet and the Cancelled Debt Summary

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen

Click on Tools

Click on Delete a form

Enter the Form 1099-C again making sure that you have selected I received the 1099-C for another type of debt. And that you select that you received the Form 1099-C for a Personal debt.

To enter a Form 1099-C

Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
Click on Wages and Income (Personal Income using Home and Business)
Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
Scroll down to Less Common Income
On Miscellaneous Income, 1099-A, 1099-C, click the start or update button

On the next screen, on Cancellation of debt (Form 1099-C) or the abandonment and/or acquisition of secured property (Form 1099-A), click the start or update button
