You can deduct your car registration fee if it’s a yearly fee based on the value of your vehicle. 

 

In Iowa, the Vehicle Registration Fees are based on the vehicle's value, so they are deductible.  The $25 title fee is nondeductible.

Thanks, you cleared that up.  It's only the annual fee I can deduct, not the 5% one time registration fee.  Too bad, that would have been a nice deduction.
