Florida does not have an individual state income tax. The only reason to file a state tax return in Florida is if you have a Florida-located business, rental property, or farm. In that case, a Florida Tangible Personal Property tax return may be due.

You can delete your TurboTax Online state return as long as you haven't paid for it yet (or registered in a free version):

  1. Sign in to your return, if you're not already signed in.
  2. Click State Taxes near the top of your screen and proceed to the Status of Your State Returns screen.
  3. On that screen, click the Delete link right next to the price, and then Yes.
  • If you already paid (or registered), you won't see the delete option.
  • Instead, you'll see Edit Return and Start Over, neither of which will remove your state return.

No. You only need to file a FL tax return

If you do not have a business or rental real estate with assets in Florida, you do not need to prepare or file the Florida return in TurboTax.
