Do not expect quick results from amending. It can take four months or more for the IRS to process an amended return.

Since you said "sent", does that mean you mailed a paper amended return? In the best of circumstances it can take 8-12 weeks (or longer) for processing. But there's often a backlog of paper amended returns. According to the IRS processing status page at the link below, the IRS is currently processing paper amended returns received in March 2025. So I suspect you'll have to wait some more.
