Did not received 2022 stimulus check, what should I do?

I did not receive 2022's stimulus payment. Some people received them. I feel I qualify income wise.
How do I claim it? Thank you.

There were no stimulus checks issued from the federal government in 2022.

Federal stimulus checks were issued for tax years 2020 and 2021----not for tax year 2022. There is no place on a 2022 tax return to enter anything about stimulus checks. If you did not receive the first or second stimulus check for 2020 ($1200 and $600) , you have to use the recovery rebate credit in Federal Review on a 2020 tax return to get it. If you did not receive the third stimulus check for $1400 in 2021, then you can use the recovery rebate credit in Federal Review on a 2021 tax return to get the third EIP payment. If you could be claimed as someone else's dependent for 2020 or 2021 then you were not eligible to receive the stimulus checks.

Hi Champ,

Thanks for the information. I just realized I was asking for 2022 State stimulus check. Your information for federal is also very useful.

I checked on google, it says if you were claimed as a dependent on someone else's tax return for 2020, you were not eligible for the third Economic Impact Payment.

I am wondering why Google only mention ineligible for the third stimulus? Did not say the first and second?

I guess so. People were talking about whether to include 2022 stimulus check payment on their 2022 tax return.

I had no idea about it because did not receive. Another person told me there is no Federal stimulus payment for 2022. So must be State. I found my state has a stimulus payment and will looking into it. Thank you so much!
