Why cant i check my refund on the irs2go app

Until the IRS starts processing your tax return there may not be a record of it in the IRS2Go app or it may say that you have entered incorrect information. When tracking your federal refund you need to wait at least 24 hours after first transmitting your tax return. Sometimes this step can take several days. As your return moves through the system the status will be updated accordingly. Continue checking the IRS2Go app for updates. These updates are made daily, usually overnight. Also, you will need to know the exact amount of your tax return refund, your tax return filing status, and your Social Security number when you visit the IRS app to track your refund. I filed my taxes electronically on February 2nd here is March 12th and the IRS has not put my information into the system I think I find that kind of ludicrous

@austint246 It is not unusual for the IRS site to go blank if they are updating. I would just continue to monitor your refund on the IRS Where’s My Federal Refund? site for updates. Updates are made daily, usually overnight. You may also download the IRS2Go app to check your Federal refund status.

Note: Be sure when checking Where’s My Federal Refund? site that you are entering only your Federal refund amount. This can be found on your Federal form 1040, line 21a. If you paid any fees out of your federal refund, use the refund figure prior to the deduction of he fees. Also if you filed joint, be sure to enter the filers name that appears first on the return.
