Question

Turbo tax says my return has been accepted. I go to the IRS website and it only says it's been recieved. Why is that? And which one do I go off of? Can anyone explain

They are both right because accepted means the IRS received your return and are processing it.

Once they approve your return, they will issue you a refund. The IRS releases most refunds with some exceptions, within 21 calendar days after the e-filed return has been approved, not 21 days from the e-filing date.

So why would turbo tax say that it's been recieved and then 2 days later say it's been accepted?

Accepted means your return was received and the basics (such as the correct social security number) seem to be in order. See the following link for more information.
