Although most owners consider their pet a beloved member of the family; unfortunately, the IRS does not allow you to claim a pet as a Dependent on your Tax Return.

However, if your pet is considered a service animal or guide dog, you may be able to deduct their care under medical expenses if you Itemize your Deductions on Schedule A.

In addition, if your pet is used in your business, you may deduct expenses involving your pet related to that business.
