How do I let the system know I'm filing for a deceased person?

Yes, there is a checkpoint to notify TurboTax you are filing the return for a deceased individual. To enter in TurboTax, follow these steps:

Sign into TurboTax
Click My info
Click Revisit next to the name
Click Continue
Confirm SSN and click Continue
Under Let's check for some other situations, mark the box for "I am preparing this return for someone who has passed away and enter the date of death (see screenshot below)

In MY INFO there is a screen where you can enter that the person passed away before filing the return. Click their name and go very slowly and carefully through the interview screens.
