Question

1095-B

Hi, I moved from one state to another in 2024, so I have 2 1095-B.  One state’s 1095-B says that I had health coverage for half of the year, and the other says I had health coverage with them for a full year (incorrectly). Will this affect my taxes if it incorrectly shows that I had double coverage?

You do not enter a 1095B on your tax return.  Just save the 1095B for your own records.  The only health insurance document that gets entered----if you have one--- is a 1095A for having health insurance from healthcare.gov.   ("Obamacare" "Affordable Care Act" "marketplace" insurance)   When it asks if you have a 1095A, say NO.

We had Healthcare from the government in both states. Medicaid.  So does that make a difference? Thank you so much for your help!:)

Medicaid is not marketplace insurance and you will not get a 1095A for Medicaid.
