TurboTax Deluxe 2024 - Desktop Version - The Search feature

Hello:

When I click on Search it pulls up a Digital Assistant which I find useless. For example, I type "IRA Contributions" and instead of giving a "Jump to ..." option as members often mention when they are answering a question, it will list possible answers in anyway related to "IRA Contributions".

Am I missing something?

Thanks!

    Here are two ways to do a search. Either one should work.

    1. At the very bottom of the TurboTax Assistant window it says "Type or ask something." See the screen shot below. Click on those words and you will get a cursor that allows you to type what you want to search for. Then click the send arrow on the right or press Enter. If you get a response that says "Jump directly to ...," click on that.

    2. Sign out of your TurboTax account. On the File menu (not the File tab) select "Signed in as GM45." Then click Sign Out, and click Sign Out again to confirm it. After you sign out, when you click Search at the top right you will get a Sign In window. Do not sign in. Click the X in the top right corner to close the Sign In window. Then you will get the old-style search window with the search bar at the top where you can type your search.

    Thanks. But when I type a question such as IRA Contributions, this is what I get. I never see a Jump to link I can click.

    I get stuff like:

    It looks like my two suggestions don't produce the same results. Method 2 works better.

    Also note that the Search is very particular about what you enter. If you type IRA contributions (using my method #2) you will get a jump-to link. If you type IRA contribution (without the S) you don't get a link. So you might have to try several variations of a particular topic.

    If you continue to have an issue getting to the correct area to enter your IRA contributions, please follow the steps below:

    1. Click on the Federal taxes tab.
    2. Click on Deductions & Credits.
    3. Scroll down to Traditional and Roth IRA Contributions and click Start.
    4. Continue through the screens.

    This feature appears broken on Deluxe 2024 desktop.   I never get Jump TO link no matter where I enter my "1050-ES" search key.   Most frustrating

    @MelsTTC

    There is no Form 1050-ES. I get a jump link if I enter 1040-es, using method 2 in my earlier post above.
