Any help would be greatly appreciated. my understanding of the Irs regs is that when you send it a check, you do not receive the check back the IRS converts the electronically and the proof will be an electronic debit on the bank statement. I however, have check images from the bank, which is contrary to the IRS

Have you tried looking at your IRS online account to verify that your payment was credited?

Your prior message was answered here - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/after-you-file/discussion/re-check-processing-payment/01/3406797#M764123

When you send a check for a payment, the check is cashed and your bank receives the check and cancels the check.  The IRS does not covert a paper check to a digit payment.  The IRS processed the check received just like any other business or individual who cashes the check and it shows on your bank statement as a cancelled check.

Are you sure?  My credit union did not process it as a check and I can't get an image of it.  My Sept 2024 IRS estimated payment check #6663 on my bank checking account statement says....
Withdrawl-ACH-A-1461065 #6663 US TREASURY IRS ACH TRANSACTION (PAYMENT)
They posted it as a ACH withdrawal and the actual check is not processed so there is no picture of the check.

Since all companies or government agencies I deal with will take a check, cash it and my bank cancels the check.  I do make assumptions based on prior experiences.

Payments I have sent to the IRS were all direct debit so there would not be check to cancel on a direct debit.
