Hi I previously asked a question about money received for taking surveys.  The response I was given said to report that income as self employment income but I’m wondering if I could report it as other income? (I believe I would get a 1099-MISC anyways and report it as other income if I had received 600 or more from any organization.) I don’t plan to claim any business deductions

Report as other or miscellaneous income.

You will make a judgement call. See this IRS article for guidance.

No. Since this is compensation for performing a service, this should be reported as Self-Employment Income.  You should receive a 1099 NEC for this type of activity but you may possibly receive a 1099 MISC.
