State Mandatory Taxes - Oregon

On my return in the state income taxes paid section, it shows a very large amount for State Mandatory Taxes for Oregon.  This amount is about equal to my gross wages for state Paid Family Leave + my gross wages for State Transit Tax.  I've triple-checked my W-2 input and everything looks correct.  Why is this amount so high?

The taxes should be pulling in from the forms you entered. You generally don't need to make additional entries. You state that you triple checked the w2 input, look at your box 14 input and state tax withheld in box 17. You could have swapped the income and the taxes boxes and once you do that, you are sure it is right. Double check the PFML. The transit tax is only 0.1% so perhaps the decimal is in the wrong place or the w2 has the decimals in the wrong place. If the w2 is wrong, you can correct a box 14 issue. If it is box 17, you will need to contact the employer for a corrected w2.

You are super smart to  have caught the problem. Take a break and come back with fresh eyes.

I had this error under Other Income Taxes in fed section-Estimates and other taxes paid.  The details  shows the "Sate mandatory taxes" = $xxx and this added up, directly to the 3 entries in box 14..  I think this is a new item this year...  everything else on my return looked perfect and I had no errors.

Thanks.  That was the same experience I had.  Hopefully this is just a harmless glitch that doesn't impact any other parts of the return.
