How is your payer's federal ID number formatted? 1099-MISC

I have a 1099-MISC from the money I get from my native American tribe. Their federal ID number doesn't have any dashes like a social security number or have a dash after the first two digits but those are my only options. The payer's federal ID number only has digits and no dashes so what do I put?

Since it is unlikely that your Form 1099-MISC is being reported under someone's Social Security number, choose the option that has the single dash and then just enter the numbers from your form.  The dash will be automatically entered as you type the numbers.

Just add a dash between the second and third digits.

The question isn't asking for the number, it's just asking which way it is formatted.
