It's not important.  Put whatever you want.  Current job is good.

The IRS only uses occupation for statistical purposes so you can put down any thing you want to.

Hi, it is referring to your current occupation when filing your taxes so current.  I hope this helps and have a great evening!

My understanding is that it refers to the occupation that you were in when you earned the money shown on your W2 for 2021.  If you have more than one W2, pick the occupation that goes with the most money earned or seems the most appropriate to you.  Hope this helps.

No matter what you enter for occupation it will have no effect at all on your refund or tax due.
