Question

I see Costco is selling "Turbo Tax Premium" for $70. If I use Turbo Tax website, then I see the charges are $170. Is this comparison right?

Not really

1)  Online Premier "Live" is $170 which gives access to a tax preparer specialist to help you prepare it, then every state needed is another $55.

2)  Online Premier (not LIVE) is $90, with an extra $50 for each state needed

3)  Desktop Premier from Costco will include one state software set....but e-filing that state is $25 after 28 Feb.   Extra states are (EDIT: missed a keystroke) $45 each.   BUT , if other members in your household need to prepare and file, you can do that with the same software set....( but only 5 federal returns can e-filed )

Thanks @SteamTrain . I ended up returning the software CD bought from Costco. It had  a flaw and after screen it kept going in rounds and never proceeded. Used website itself.
