Hello,

I'm been working under OPT visa after graduated my master degree in US since July 2017. And I filed the tax return by using SprinTax with 1040-NR form, but what I heard is if I've been in US at least 5 years then I'm being consider as Resident Alien. Here is my timeline when I was in US.

 * July 2015: Entered US for Master degree.

 * December 2015: went back to country for Winter break

 * January 2016: re-entered US

 * July 2017: Started OPT program until now.

Base on that do I eligible for using TurboTax to file tax return for 2019 as a Resident Alien?

Thanks a lot for your answers.

    If you entered the US on an F-1 or J-1 visa, your exempt years would be 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019.  So for 2019 tax year, you need to file a nonresident tax return with Sprintax.  Next year, when you file your 2020 taxes, you will need to file a US resident return and can file with TurboTax.
