What forms are requilred to mail in to the state of Iowa when filing my taxes? When I printed the forms off to file, the cover sheet says to attach W2s and 1099s…all 1099’s? 1099-G, 1099-SA, 1099-INT? Are all of these required?

Yes, they are all required.  Per Iowa's Department of Revenue-instructions, include all necessary supporting documentation and a copy of your federal return. Place documents in the following order:

  • Check or Money Order
  • Payment Voucher (1040V)
  • W-2s / 1099s
  • IA 1040
  • Iowa schedules, forms, and supporting documentation
  • Copy of complete Federal return. Do not staple supporting documentation to the IA 1040. Include all required schedules, even if the schedule results in zero dollars.

For more information, see 2018 IA 1040 page 133 under Supporting documents.

Thank you! It was a little confusing because Iowa's site said one thing (what you mentioned above), and Iowa's printed form mentioned that you only needed to send W2's.
