My dependent has a 1099-misc and needs to report the income. Instead of filling her own tax return I would like to us a Form 8814. I just don't know how to add it

Edited 2/6 6:42pm.  (You cannot claim your child's earned income on the 8814, or anywhere else on your return, regardless of whether the income is reported on a 1099-MISC or a W-2).

You can get form 8814 by performing the following steps:

1) Click on the Personal or Federal tab to the left of your screen.

2) Click on Wages and Income

3) Click on Explore On My Own.

4) Scroll down to the Less Common Income Block.

5) Click on the start button to the right of Child's Income. Follow the interview proccess. This should get you the needed form.

2015 there is no personal or federal tab to the left of the screen.  They are on the top.  When clicking on wages and income there is no child's income option under less common income.
