You may claim the money you send to sponsor a child as a charitable contribution.  You should have received a contribution summary acknowledgement from the charity through which you sponsor the child.  

Enter the contribution on your Federal return under Deductions & Credits, Donations to Charity in 2017.

You may claim the money you send to sponsor a child as a charitable contribution.  You should have received a contribution summary acknowledgement from the charity through which you sponsor the child.  For that I have some suggestion go n check as well. One is Quba Foundation and the other one is Al Khidmat Foundation.
