What do I enter for Business Name if I am a driver for Uber, Lyft and Fasten ride share programs

Do I put my own name down for the Business Name, or do I put Uber and the Uber address name and the Uber EID number down? If so, what about Lyft and Fasten payment that I need to report?

You can create a name for your business if you choose, but since Schedule C flows to your personal return, most people just use their own name and home address.

What about the EID? Do I use my name for the business and then use the EID that Uber has on the 1099 form they sent me?

Yes, as that will make things so much easier on you for record-keeping purposes. Not only on your end, but also with the IRS. You took the best route.

I applied for an EIN for free at IRS.gov. I wanted it to use that instead of my SSN everywhere. I set it up with my name, Transportation, Rideshare. I am going to use the EIN for Sixt Rentals and Self-employed from now on.
