Can I use my account to file for my deceased mother? I can't find where to choose file for someone else.

Yes, you can use your TurboTax account to file a tax return for your deceased mother. In TurboTax Online, when you start the return for your mother, go to the Personal profile section. Select her name (or add her if new), then choose Edit. You will see an option that says, "I am preparing this return for [name], who has passed away." Select this option and provide her date of death.

This allows you to file the decedent's return properly. TurboTax will guide you through adding Form 1310 if a refund is due. Make sure you have the necessary information about her income, deductions, and the date she passed away to complete the return accurately.

@cathy-pelletier0

Have you already prepared your own return in that account?   Online TurboTax can only prepare 1 Federal return per account per year.   If you need to prepare a second online return for someone else, they would need their own separate account and separate fee, if applicable.    Do not try to prepare a second return in the same account, or it will overwrite the first one.
