Yes, the IRS includes estimated taxes paid as a part of total taxes paid.

Estimated tax payments that you paid towards your 2025 federal or state taxes will be entered in the Deductions & Credits Section of TurboTax. Follow the instructions below:

  1. Go to the Deductions & Credits Section
  2. Select Estimates and Other Income Taxes Paid
  3. Select Start under  estimated tax payments
  4. Select Start next to the type of estimated tax payments that you made.

Refer to the TurboTax Help article Where do I enter my estimated tax payments? for navigation instructions.

I'm not sure what you mean by "does the IRS include" (include where?), but here's how you can verify they show up prior to filing.   Once you enter the estimated tax payments using the steps provided by TurboTax SharonD007 above, if these were Federal estimated tax payments, before filing make sure they show up in the figure shown on your Form 1040, Line 26.   Then they should also be shown within the figure summed for "Total Payments" on Form 1040, Line 33.

That does not exist. The only choices I see under Deductions & Credits are Property (real estate) taxes; Medical Expenses; Deductions and credits summary.

Please help!

You're adding on to someone else's thread without much explanation.   So I'll assume you are likewise wanting to get to the section to enter estimated taxes paid for 2025.     I'm suspicious that you may be using Online TurboTax.   If so, when you use the left column tab for "Deductions & Credits", does it take you to a page that says "Your Tax Breaks?"   If so, that will show you only the tax break topics you have worked on.  Lower down on that page should be a link for something like "Show more tax breaks" or "Show all tax breaks".   Then that page will expand, and you should a full list of "Tax break" topics, where you can find the topic "Estimate and Other Income Taxes Paid" and then subtopic "Estimated Tax Payments."   Or you can use the following shortcut navigation to get to the right section in Online TurboTax:

  • With the return open, go to the left menu column and click on TAX TOOLS, then the subtab TOOLS.
  • In the Tools Center choose the blue button Topic Search.
  • In the topic search line enter the phrase estimated tax payments without quotes.
  • Make the selection in the list (it may already be highlighted), and either double-click it or click the GO button.
  • Next screen is Estimates and Other Income Taxes Paid.
  • Expand the section Estimated Tax Payments.
  • Choose the appropriate category and tax year you are reporting (Federal, state, local) and click START or Revisit.

NOTE:  Before filing, make sure your Federal estimated tax payments correctly show on the Form 1040, Line 26, and that any state estimated tax payments (if applicable) show up on your state return.
