There's a BUG in Turbo Tax Deluxe for Tax Year 2025 in Form 8962 - Line 4.

*  If you get health Insurance from HealthCare.gov you'll get a 1095-A form and will have to reconcile to see if you'll need to pay back any advanced Premium Tax Credits.  To do this you need to fill out Form 8962.  Based on the personal info I've already entered, Turbo Tax completes most of Form 8962.  Line 4 is directly derived from the Tax Year, and Family Tax Size in Line 1  (we're a Fam Tax Size of 2),   then Turbo Tax has it's own table of data (this s/b from the IRS) to determine Line 4 (FPL for that Family Tax Size and Tax Year).  However,  Turbo Tax is using an INCORRECT # In Line 4 which is erroneously increasing the amount of taxes for me to PAY!  They're using IRS data from Tax Year 2024 instead of 2025.  Intuit TT:   Please fix this bug to pull appropriate 2025 FPL data.   I'm using TT Deluxe Desktop Version on Windows 11.  I called in mid Dec 2025 and they opened an incident with screen shots and a detailed explanation I provided.  I waited 3 weeks and called back a few times last week but can't get any update and keep getting disconnected.

If you are using TurboTax Desktop

  • Make sure the software is updated.
  • If you haven't rebooted your computer, please do.
  • Check your firewall and antivirus settings. Make sure they aren't blocking any feature of the software.

It is not a bug, The IRS instructions for Form 8962 line 4 say "For 2025, the 2024 federal poverty lines are used for this purpose."
