My wife paid a Master Course. Can I include that cost into my tax return?

If you are filing as married filing jointly, then you can enter her tuition expenses. You may qualify for an education credit or deduction. Please view the IRS education credit comparison chart, as it shows the qualifications of each credit.

Turbo Tax will give you credit for the education credit or deduction that you qualify for. Please follow the directions below to enter your wife's education expenses.

  • Sign in to your account and click take me to my return.(unless already in return)
  • Click federal taxes tab, at the top of the page.
  • Select the deductions and credits tab
  • Click skip to see all tax breaks and scroll down to education.
  • Click show more and select Scholarships, student loans, tuition (1098-E and 1098-T).
