Student Loans taking taxes

My student loans went into default last year and they ended up taking my whole refund. This year I am pregnant and would like to know if there is a way to fix this

The only way to prevent the tax refund from being seized for the student loans is to become current on the loan.

Level 2

Or call them about your loan and tell them your situation. I defaulted last year and called them 2 weeks ago and set up a new plan. They said it had not gone to a level in which my refund would be taken even though I defaulted months ago, but calling them is really key.
