Deductible contributions to a 529 plan are reported on your state tax return. It is not a deduction for your Federal return.

When going through a state return, it is sometimes tricky to find the place to enter your 529 contributions. You will often find it in the Income section of the state return under an Education heading on the page that says Here is the income that XX state treats differently.

If you cannot locate the right place to enter your contributions, come back here and share the state you are filing. Someone will be able to guide you to the exact place to enter your contributions.
