My daughter turned 18 Feb 2017, she worked part time and earned a little over 5,000 and is a full time student, I have been on disability through VA since Nov 2016.  I'm not sure if I have to file, but if I do should I claim her because she is a dependent or should she file her own?

If your only income in 2017 was VA disability income, you need not file a return as your income is not taxable.

If your daughters income in 2017 was W-2 income, she is not required to file a return, but may elect to do so to obtain a refund if her tax withholding(s).
