Question

Why can’t I add my kids

BM is in prison her family doesn’t have the socials this is the first year I’ve been able to file them on taxes and it says that I don’t fit the criteria for having child tax credit but how I’m the only one taking care of them financially

If the child does not have a Social Security number or an ITIN issued by the IRS then they cannot be claimed as dependents on a tax return.
