Stimulus check # 2

I didn't receive second stimulus check early, but the IRS says it's in the mail and should arrive soon.  Question: Is it OK to enter the amount Turbo tax software asks for, even though I haven't received or cashed it yet?

For some filers, this "in the mail" status does not change, and the check is not received for several weeks.

TurboTax will prompt you with the amounts that should have been received. If they are not received at the time of the filing, report that they are not received. If there is a calculation error and the 2nd stimulus is received, the IRS will automatically update the return for calculation issues.

To return to this area of your return, follow these steps to report the Recovery Rebate Credit:

    1. Go to the search box and enter stimulus. Click the Jump to link.
    2. Answer Yes.
    3. At the next screen, Let's double-check the amount you received, answer No to edit the first-round and second-round amounts.
    4. If no stimulus amount was received, enter 0. An amount must be entered in each box. When finished, click Continue.
