Simple Form 8606 not part of printed return

I have TT 2025 for Mac desktop. I have very simple info for Form 8606; nothing involving Roth.

I can see a correct 8606 in Forms in the app. However when I print/save a PDF of my return, there is no Form 8606 included. This is even when I choose “All forms & documents” in the print dialog. [But I think the Form 8606 should be in the filed return; so in all prints.]

I am reporting only a pre-2024 basis for my IRA, from a nondeductible contribution many years ago. I have no other IRA contributions, withdrawals or conversions.

In the app, TT has properly filled in lines 2,3,14 of the form – same value in each box – with everything else blank in the form.

Question: How can I get Form 8606 in the PDF? How can I be confident that TT is sending this form when I e-file?

One additional thing to note:  Form 8606 itself says to complete Part I only if the circumstances result in a change in basis or the application of the basis to a distribution (listing the three things that do this).

There is no requirement for From 8606 to be included in a tax return simply to carry forward basis that has already been established on a prior Form 8606, so filing Form 8606 only to carry forward the basis is extraneous.  The last-filed Form 8606 that changes the basis is still the from that is in force.  As such, TurboTax properly excludes Form 8606 Part I from the tax return when it reports no change in basis.

In the instructions for Form 8606, the IRS instructs the individual to retain copies of all Forms 8606 ever filed (those being the ones that that establish or modify basis).  A form that makes no change to the basis does nothing to reinforce the establishment or modification the basis.

Thanks! I thought I’d heard long ago that it was necessary or prudent to keep reminding with a fresh 8606 each year. Thx for this informed update.

(I used an accountant the past few years, and he sent this type of 8606 each year.)
