I’m a returning student who has earned an Associate’s and is now finishing my Bachelor’s degree. From my understanding, I’m no longer eligible for the AOTC credit, but would like to know what options are available as well as more information on how to maximize the Lifetime Learning Credit

So since I’m paying my own tuition, I’ll be able to get a portion of it reimbursed, basically?

Not sure why you believe you are not eligible for the American Opportunity Tax Credit.    You can use that credit for up to four times while pursuing your first bachelor’s degree.   The “four times” include any time your parents used the credit on their own tax return if you were claimed as their dependent, so you may need to check with them to see if it was used in some earlier year(s).

If, in fact, you have already used the AOTC four times, then you should try using the Lifetime Learning Credit.   The LLC is non-refundable, which means it can reduce your tax owed, but is not added to your refund as a “reimbursement” to you.
