HSA Distribution

Can I make an HSA distribution in a given year for medical expenses made the year before without having to pay a penalty for such distribution? In my specific case, I distributed (withdrew from my HSA account) an amount on January 2019 for medical expenses made in 2018 - I had a valid HSA account in both years.

Appreciate any information anyone can share.

Yes. HSA expenses can be claimed for I reimbursed qualified medical costs that were incurred in previous years.
