Dental expenses, including dental implants, are considered deductible medical expenses if you itemize your deductions on Schedule A (Form 1040).

These expenses can include fees paid for dental care such as dental implants, crowns, braces, and other dental treatments necessary for medical reasons. However, the total medical and dental expenses must exceed 7.5% of your adjusted gross income (AGI) to be deductible.

Only the unreimbursed portion of these expenses can be deducted. So, if insurance or other sources reimburse you, you can only deduct what you actually paid.

To enter dental expenses including dental implants in TurboTax Online, follow these steps:

1. Go to the Federal section.
2. Select Deductions & Credits.
3. Scroll down to the Medical Expenses section and click Start or Revisit.
4. Answer the questions about your medical and dental expenses.
5. When prompted, enter your dental expenses including implants under the dental care subsection.
6. Include only the unreimbursed amounts you paid during the tax year.

TurboTax will help calculate if your total medical expenses exceed the deduction threshold.

Remember: You must itemize deductions on Schedule A to claim these medical and dental expenses.
